Ethan Watson

Ethan was born in Overland Park, KS, and grew up in a household where politics were discussed around the dinner table each night. His parents were hardworking people who instilled in him the value of dedication and self-sufficiency. Ethan read voraciously, quickly becoming a strong speaker and writer. Ethan became politically aware during the 2016 presidential election, and the following mayhem captured his imagination and instilled in him his love of politics. Since then, Ethan has consumed news and political opinion content voraciously. Ethan attended KU and earned degrees in Accounting and Political Science, reflecting his dual loves of business and politics. Though he enjoys business, his dream job has always been to be a political commentator. While applying for various accounting and consulting jobs, he met Young Voices alumnus Amelia Irvine, who informed him about the program. He was intrigued, applied, and was rejected in December of 2023. Determined, he decided to try again, writing about the recent campus protests which hit close to home for him.
