Jacob Lane

Jacob Lane is an independent consultant and freelance journalist. In his day job, he advises non-profits and political candidates on various matters, including fundraising, communications strategy and best hiring practices. Jacob attended DePauw University for his undergraduate studies, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in political science, and is a graduate of Ball State University, where he earned his M.A. in journalism. While at Ball State, he served as a graduate assistant for the journalism department. In 2020, the Journalism Department honored Jacob with their Young Alumnus Award. Jacob got his start in Indiana politics, working for both the Indiana House Republican Caucus and the Indiana Republican State Committee under the leadership of future Governor Eric Holcomb. Most recently, Jacob served as Chief of Staff at FAPE for All, LCC, a political action committee (PAC) dedicated to electing national, state and local candidates committed to supporting school choice measures. Prior to this, he served as Director of External Relations and Special Assistant to the President for the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), where he was an advocate for college students against campus censorship and cancel culture. Jacob’s work has appeared in multiple publications, including Newsmax, where he’s a frequent contributor.
