Announcing Nominees for the 2021 Young Voices Awards

The nominees were submitted by Young Voices' current writers and alumni then selected by staff. The winner for each award will be chosen by a professional panel of judges who work in communications and media: John Kramer (VP for Communications, Institute for Justice), Beverly Hallberg (President, District Media Group), and Shoshana Weissmann (Senior Manager of Digital Media, R Street Institute).The nominees for the 2021 Young Voices Awards are...Alumnus Award$250 award recognizing an alumnus for successfully using skills honed at Young Voices to advance his or her career and promote the ideas of liberty.

• Shaun Cammack — Founder and Director, Narratives Project
• Alexander Hammond — Director of the Initiative for African Trade and Prosperity, Institute of Economic Affairs
• Stephen Kent — Host, Rightly

Impact Award$250 award recognizing a current contributor for producing a media hit through Young Voices that made a notable impact on policy discussions

• Rachel Chiu — Research Associate, Cato Institute
• Cooper Conway — Ignite Fellow, Teach for America
• Eric Peterson — Director of Policy, Pelican Institute

Contributor of the Year Award$1,000 award recognizing a current contributor for excellence in pro-liberty advocacy

• Abby Hall Blanco — Associate Professor of Economics, Bellarmine University
• Fiona Harrigan — Assistant Editor, Reason
• Alexander Salter — Associate Professor of Economics, Texas Tech University

Award recipients will be announced at a ceremony on December 7, 2021.
