Looking to get a jumpstart on your communications career? Do you have a friend or colleague who is looking for the perfect opportunity to get their foot in the door? Maybe you’re looking for a career change? The Communications Apprenticeship is the opportunity you’re looking for!

This is a part-time, paid opportunity for young people on the hunt for a new job or career change—whether they’re at the beginning of their career or simply want a different gig in communications or organizational operations. We’re here to help!

Would you like help to get a job in the non-profit world, working in broadcasting, media, or communications? 

This June, Young Voices will start training three apprentices who will get experience in three of our departments: 

• Editorial - Giving a hand to our editorial team in editing and pitching the op-eds of our contributors to top-tier publications across the country. 
• Public Relations - Assisting our public relations team in pitching out our contributors to top media outlets across the country (including radio, television, podcasts, and more!) 
• General Programs - Helping programs staff with administrative tasks, and learning the ropes of what it takes to work inside the nonprofit space.

This program is flexible for the right candidate—we’re interested in what you want to know. We are looking for apprentices to commit to a three to six month term. Apprentices will receive a stipend of up to $1200 per month (equivalent to $15 per hour). 

Don’t live in DC or NYC? No worries. This apprenticeship can be entirely virtual. We just need 20 hours a week. If you have a job already, don’t let that deter you from applying! 

By the end of their tenure, apprentices will be fully equipped to take on a position in public relations or journalism, and we will help with the hiring process by utilizing our broad network (much of which is looking to hire!) in the liberty sphere.
