Dissident Project Collaborates with Reagan Foundation

Friend,

Young Voices is proud to announce the Dissident Project is collaborating with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute to share the resilient stories of our dissidents with audiences across the nation. The Liberty Over Communism initiative is a video series, eventually branching into classroom talks to promote curriculum warning middle and high school students about the "promises and perils of communism.”

  • Jorge Galicia shares the story of Venezuela nationalizing entire sectors of the markets under Hugo Chavez and how he fled to America from persecution for protesting the Maduro regime.
  • Grace Jo reflects on living with chronic starvation and state oppression in North Korea. Her journey to becoming an American citizen made her realize how beautiful freedom is.
  • Mailyn Salabarria shatters the façade of Cuba, exposing it as an authoritarian regime. Mailyn risked her life to make it to America, and she warns about the draw toward communism in American culture.

Watch the testimonies from Jorge, Grace, and Mailyn as they share their firsthand experiences of survival and perseverance. Visit LibertyOverCommunism.org to watch their stories and learn more about this important initiative.

Between this new collaboration with the Ronald Reagan Foundation and partnership with the Federalist Society, Young Voices is being recognized by movement leaders as the forefront of media outreach and talent sources. With the rise in appeal for authoritarianism among younger generations, this work is crucial in platforming the next generation of the liberty movement and onward.

Stay tuned for updates to both the fellowship and the initiative, be sure to follow the Dissident Project on Facebook, X, and Instagram to watch as their impactful stories unfold.

Support our work

Sincerely,
