Alejandro J. Ramos is a Master of Public Administration candidate at Cornell University’s Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, where he serves as a Public Policy Fellow. A first-generation American of Cuban descent, Alejandro has dedicated his academic and professional career to exploring the intersections of civic engagement, education policy, and governance. He is the Executive Director of the Ramos Research Institute, a nonprofit think tank focused on advancing evidence-based solutions to pressing policy issues. Alejandro also serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Cornell Policy Review, where he leads a team of contributors examining topics ranging from democratic participation to public finance. With a passion for fostering informed civic participation, Alejandro’s work has included analyzing Hispanic voting trends as a Kohut Research Fellow at the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research and collaborating with Demo Lab to evaluate civic education and program effectiveness. His leadership and research underscore his commitment to equity and empowerment. Alejandro’s research interests center on barriers to political and civic engagement among young people, particularly college-aged students in the American Northeast. Outside of academia, he enjoys cooking and exploring new recipes. Alejandro’s work is driven by a commitment to advancing freedom and opportunity for all.
