Samantha Dagres
Communications Advisor
Montreal Economic Institute
Sam Dagres is currently a Communications and Youth Programming Advisor for the Montreal Economic Institute, one of Canada’s leading economic and public policy think tanks. In her role, she tells real-life stories, namely the story of Canada through its policy decisions. The metric of a policy’s success is whether Canadians are better or worse off after its implementation, and Sam strives to popularize these stories to help shape governmental policy moving forward. Sam’s experience includes working on Parliament Hill, in the federal government, and in the tech start-up space. Throughout her studies as both an undergraduate and a law student, Sam was engaged in various advocacy organizations, including Anglophones in Law, where she helped Anglophone students navigate the French university system and obtain internships. She was Senior Editor of the McGill Policy Association Journal and the McGill Journal of Political Studies. She created a podcast for the Post Millennial titled “Chicks and Balances,” where she discussed Canadian policy. She also holds a BA in Philosophy from McGill and a JD from the University of Montreal.
